The conversion challenge
Scientific excellence does not automatically produce nationwide productivity. Firms need usable infrastructure, management capability and employees with the confidence to redesign work around AI.
A whole-economy test
The decisive measure will not be the number of frontier models alone. It will be whether advanced systems improve public services, regional businesses and the productivity of ordinary teams across Britain.
